To introduce ourselves, discuss your tastes and requirements, show you examples of our completed projects, prepare a garden brief and discuss budgets and design fees. At this stage we would aim to establish your style, your likes and dislikes, in terms of colours, materials and plants, understand how you will use the garden and generally get a feel for the kind of garden that you would like.
Site Survey and Analysis
To determine the precise boundaries, the levels across the garden and the features that are to be retained, for example, trees, outbuildings and ponds.
Mood boards and outline drawings would be presented to you along with samples of proposed materials. At this stage amendments changes and revisions to the details can be made prior to progressing to the next stage.
Presentation of the detailed design drawings, sections and elevations and a cost schedule breaking the work into sections.
A full set of technical drawings will be provided in order to have the garden built, these will include setting out, electrical and lighting, water and irrigation and a full set of construction drawings.
Detailed planting plans are drawn up from scaled plans of the garden, taking into account the particular site and its aspect and conditions and the individual clients planting preferences.
The Baum Consultancy will draw up a comprehensive specification document so that the garden may then be built. We have close relationships with a number of landscape builders so we are happy to work on your behalf and tender out the work, or alternately work alongside your own builders. We will then on your behalf project monitor the build of your garden through to completion.
From the supplied planting plan we will outline plant varieties, numbers, spacing and plant care, followed by the sourcing of the desired plants and finally the planting itself.
